Frequently asked questions

We have collected a few questions that you as a student might have to Oi-X

1. Do I need to participate in all the activities?

No! The pre-activities listed under 'programme' is optional - we just want to make sure you have the best possible platform for getting in touch with the companies. The pre-activities is also a chance for you to get questions answered about Oi-X. (if we have not listed them here).

2. Can I participate if I'm not a DTU student?

Yes! All students from higher-educations can participate. In fact we encourage cross-disiplinary teams. We have experienced that the best teams are a mix across studylines.

3. Who owns the right to the ideas?

You do! If you have not agreed otherwise with one of the companies. We encourage you to keep an open development platform. After the Oi-X final you can choose to continue with your idea on your own. If you are offered a scholarship from a company - you make an agreement stating the IPR.

4. Why is it called an accelerator programme?

Oi-X has two in-built  accelerator tracks. The first is educational acceleration. Oi-X will be a platform for you to get access to great cases to use in a course (being this regular courses, special or portfolio courses), or for your bachelors or masters project. The second accelerator track is a start-up acceleration. Oi-X facilitates that the companies can offer scholarships to you. In this way you can continue development of your idea by great support and sparring from the companies.

5. Can I get ECTS points for participating in Oi-X?

There are a few ways for you, to obtain ECTS points by participating in Oi-X. The first option is that the course you are following right now, have involved a case/challenge from Oi-X. The second option is that you suggest a supervisor to create a special course prior to participation in Oi-X, where you together define the goals. The third option is that you retrospectively make a portfolio course, here you need to present - what you have learned to a supervisor, who decide if this is possible or not. Lastly you can use your participation in Oi-X as a warm-up for your bachelors or masters project, and in this way indirectly you will get ECTS-points.

6. Can I participate as a first year student?

Yes of course! You can create your own team, or find a team at the Oi-X developer weekend - kick-off.

7. I have not found a team yet, can I participate?

Yes indeed! The Oi-X developer weekend - kick-off, have a start session focused at excatly this. In fact, the teams formed on the first day of the weekend, have the chance and advantage to easily make a great team with a mix across studylines, and across universities.
